Misconception: Few individuals think that hard and aggressive and powerful brushing and hard bristled tooth brush is necessary to clean the teeth in a better way.

Reality: Brushing softly and with soft bristled tooth brush is basic technique and requirement for teeth cleaning. Aggressive and hard brushing can be dangerous for tooth enamel and gums.

Flossing Isn’t Necessary:

Misconception: Most people give suggestion that there is no need of flossing if you brush your teeth.

Reality:  Flossing is very crucial for good oral hygiene because Flossing removes bacteria and food particles sticking between teeth where bristles of tooth brush don’t reach.

Sugar-Free Gum Replaces Brushing:

Misconception: Some people think that sugar free gum is substitute of brushing.

Reality: Chewing of sugar free gum hikes saliva production and helps in washing out food particles, but it can’t be replaced with flossing and brushing.

Whitening Toothpaste Is Harmless:

Misconception: Some people believe that whitening toothpaste has no side effects and can’t harm teeth.

Reality: Few tooth whitening toothpastes can weak the enamel due to some ingredients. Use recommended  whitening toothpaste by your dentist.

Baby Teeth Don’t Matter:

Misconception: Some people assume that teeth of children will feel down so no need to clean their teeth.

Reality: Don’t ignore the teeth of your child because these play important role in nourishment, speaking and guiding permanent teeth.

Mouthwash Kills All Bacteria:

Misconception: One of the most common misconceptions is that people consider the mouthwash as an eliminator of all bad bacteria present in the mouth.

Reality: Mouthwash kills the beneficial and bad bacterial both.
